There's lots of options, I've just touched the tip of iceberg which will hopefully get you pointed in the right direction to do some research and pick a device you think will suit your needs. Fortunately they have been really good about returns so it has been worth the risk for me.
Rather than enjoying a good PDF in the same way as a cup of coffee in the afternoon, otherwise they juggled later some harmful virus inside their computer. It's messed up and someone dumped it on trade for pennies I've bought a ton from them an saved some serious $$$ on some killer equipment but I've also had about 25% defect rate. Read Book M Audio Fast Track Ultra User Guide guide, but end going on in harmful downloads. Keep in mind that all this "used" gear I talk about comes with its own risks, sure you save money but you don't have a warranty and if you get it from, there are some great deals but a lot of that gear is there for a reason. I'm actually using a MOTU Ultralight for as a mixer and computer interface, I don't have a hardware mixer, I do all the mixing on the MOTU QueMix and Mixcraft. The MOTU 8pre is a bit more ($400 range for a used unit) but its a pretty nice unit with 8 XLR inputs.īoth of these devices have a graphical mixer interface, technically you could eliminate you mixer although I still like having a hardware mixer for live use. M-Audio (formerly Midiman) is a business unit of inMusic Brands that designs and markets audio and MIDI interfaces, keyboards and MIDI controllers, synthesizers, loudspeakers, studio monitors, digital DJ systems, microphones, and music software. The company has independent offices in the US, Canada, UK, Germany, France and Japan. It's Firewire and will stream all 8 at once and if you want more channels, you just buy another and daisy-chain them by firewire. I've used one at my buddies and it worked great. Principally, the additional four XLR inputs and more rugged housing are the main. It sounds clean, it offers plenty of flexibility and, compared to the other interfaces in the Fast Track family, it has I/O to burn.
If you need more, I'd suggest looking on ebay or for a presonus Firestudio Project, it has 8 XLR and 8 TRS configurable outputs, plus stereo Main outs, and S/Pdif in and out. M-Audio has a well-deserved reputation for building quality interfaces and the Fast Track 8R isnt going to do it any harm. The Fast track Ultra is limited to 4 XLR. Even though other OSes might be compatible as well, we do not recommend applying this release on platforms other than the ones specified.
If it has been installed, updating (overwrite-installing) may fix problems, add new functions, or expand existing ones. I'd need 4 - 8 XLR/1/4" inputs (like on my mixer) and then be able to send each one of those individual inputs to mixcraft so I can arm several tracks at the same time but I dont know what Id require. This package contains the files needed for installing the M-AUDIO Fast Track USB driver. Jaymzzb wrote:Thanks again for your reply Mark.
